My tattoos all have to do with personal things -- my religious cross, my German heritage, my Marine Corps heritage. Nice Designs. I wanted to tie them all together.

I always wanted a Marine Corps tattoo. Marines are supposed to have tattoos, aren't they? [The Marine Corps] gives you confidence, it's kept me going for a long time. If it seems like there's something I can't do, I know that really I can -- If you can make it through boot camp, you can make it through a lot.

My memories of Vietnam are not good. I'd rather not think about it. I'd rather be here.
